Context

The village of Ganlé 2 is located 660 km northwest of Abidjan, economic capital of Côte d’Ivoire. The population lives in great precariousness: in fact, the inhabitants only have a manual hydraulic pump that is very often out of order and they are not connected to the electricity grid of the country, only a few peasants use solar energy low capacity.

The village has a school whose rooms are made of precarious materials (straws and bamboo), and does not have a water point or toilet.

Association Associazione Kouatokia Onlus have for project:

  • The construction of a school of 6 classes with toilets, a water point and a canteen. This will allow the children to go to school calmly, that they can have an education and especially to avoid that they go to work in the plantations.
  • Electrification of the village thanks to solar energy.
  • Support for the creation of Revenue Generating Activities (AGR) for village women’s groups.

It is in this context that the Italian association Associazione Kouatokia Onlus and the endowment fund team up to raise funds

Presentation of the project in the Ganlé 2 village

The project consists in installing 3 fountains Safe Water Cube in the village of Ganlé 2 in Ivory Coast to allow all the population to have access to drinking water and to avoid the proliferation of diseases due to poor quality some water.

This project focuses on two points: WATER and HEALTH: 

  • The supply and installation of a fountain Safe Water Cube.
  • Provide training to the population on the importance of drinking clean water.

The objectives of the project:

  1. Set up 3 fountains Safe Water Cube will allow the 3000 inhabitants of the village to have access to drinking water.
  2. The second objective is to train the population in health and hygiene needs.

Amount to finance : 16 500 €
