The village of Ganlé 2 is located 660 km northwest of Abidjan, economic capital of Côte d’Ivoire. The population lives in great precariousness: in fact, the inhabitants only have a manual hydraulic pump that is very often out of order and they are not connected to the electricity grid of the country, only a few peasants use solar energy low capacity.
The village has a school whose rooms are made of precarious materials (straws and bamboo), and does not have a water point or toilet.
Association Associazione Kouatokia Onlus have for project:
- The construction of a school of 6 classes with toilets, a water point and a canteen. This will allow the children to go to school calmly, that they can have an education and especially to avoid that they go to work in the plantations.
- Electrification of the village thanks to solar energy.
- Support for the creation of Revenue Generating Activities (AGR) for village women’s groups.
It is in this context that the Italian association Associazione Kouatokia Onlus and the endowment fund team up to raise funds
